CHAPTER SIX
~Friday 2nd concert~
~Rissa~
I met
Madison at the hotel at about noon. Like Chrissy said over the computer,
she had the stay moved up a night for her. We went to the floor and to
my surprise it looked empty. We put our luggage in the room and changed
for the concert. When we left it was close to two. We grabbed lunch and
headed over to the Ice Palace.
~6:00pm~
~Chrissy~
“I am
going to be so dead.” I said as I stretched out my legs.
“Why’s that?” Liz asked as she did the
same thing.
We were already in our concert attire so
all we were doing was some last minute stretching and gossip. “Well my
best friend is here. I upgraded her seats to front row and center stage
and also got her back stage passes.”
“So why are you going to die?”
“Cuz she doesn’t know I’m a dancer for our
favorite group.”
“Why’s that?” Beth asked as she came over
to me and Liz.
“I kinda left that part out when I told
her I couldn’t make the concert because of work.” I said with a giggle.
They laughed as we continued stretching.
After about five minutes of stretching Kev stuck his head in.
“Hey guys. Group prayer is in five
minutes.” Beth followed him out.
“See ya guys there.” She called out.
“Okay.” I said as I did a back bend and
then a back flip. Liz followed my lead and then we went to the hall for
the prayer.
~Rissa~
“Man too
bad Chrissy couldn’t make the concert.” I said as Madison returned to
our seats with a drink.
“Yeah. She would have loved it.”
“Yep, especially since it’s a hype up for
their millennium tour.”
“Yeah. She doesn’t know what she’s
missing.”
“That’s for sure. I’m wondering who
upgraded our seats to front row and got us backstage passes.”
“I haven’t the slightest idea.” He said
smiling.
“Madman! What’s up! I know you…” At that
moment the lights went out and ‘BSB’ was being chanted. I couldn’t help
but feel the excitement as I threw my camera together. As I was two
people were on stage talking.
“Hey Liz. You wouldn’t even think the
Backstreet Boys were in Tampa tonight by looking at this crowd.” The
girl coming from the right-hand stage said.
“I know. Man it looks like an *NSYNC crowd
if you ask me.” Said the girl named Liz.
“Well let’s see if we’re at the right
concert.”
“Okay.”
“If you’re here to see the BSB make some
noise!”
The arena erupted in noise. “Nope looks
like it’s a BSB concert after all Liz.”
“I guess you’re right.” She answered.
All of a sudden the screen behind the
stage came on. The crowd was going wild so I looked up only to find
Kevin on it.
“Girls! You’re supposed to be in your
places not talking about the crowd.”
“Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.” The dark haired one
said as she looked at the screen. “We’re going.”
Kevin shot her an ‘Yeah right’ look and
vanished.
“Man, what a party pooper.” The one named
Liz said.
“Well let’s go.” The dark haired one said
as she did a couple of back flips to the front center stage.
“Right behind you.” Liz said as she did a
back flip to my right.
All of a sudden the lights went black. The
intro to ‘Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)’ came on right as the lights
came up. They were doing the ballroom dance from the video. I got a
clear shot of AJ and his dancer. “HEY! THAT’S CHRISSY!”
When they broke and were dancing facing
the audience she looked at me. “I’m gonna kill you!” I yelled knowing
very well she read my lips if not that I know she heard me. She giggled
and continued dancing.
I looked over at Madison who was about to
fall out of his seat because he was laughing so hard. “You knew about
this didn’t you?” I punched is arm. “Punk!”
“Yeah, but hey, the look on your face was
worth it.”
I sighed and began taking pictures. I had
to admit Chrissy looked happier now then I could last remember. I took
lots of pictures while the guys performed ‘Quit Playing Games’ and ‘All
I Have To Give’.
I had to change rolls of film while they
performed ‘As Long As You Love Me’. After my film was changed they were
already starting ‘We’ve Got It Going On’. After that they did ‘I’ll Go
Anywhere For You’.
“Hey you guys out there!” Brian screamed.
“We’re breaking for solos now. Have fun listening.” With that he ran off
while AJ walked out for his solo.
The rest of the concert was a breeze and
all I remember was watching Howie and the rest of the guys and taking
plenty of pictures. I watched Chrissy a lot too. She was awesome up
there. I sighed when the concert was over. I looked at Madison and we
both decided we’d head back after the venue was almost cleared out.
After about five minutes we got up and headed back. I was so ready to
give Chrissy a piece of my mind for not telling me though personally I
wasn’t the least bit mad.
