CHAPTER EIGHT
~Chrissy~
As soon as we hit the club I made my way onto
the crowded dance floor.
Madison
was right at my side, dancing and having a good time just like I was. It
didn’t take much for the two of us to have a good time, though I wish I
could say that it had always been like that, but it hadn’t.
“Hey Chris!”
I looked at him knowing that he was screaming
to be heard over the pulsating beats of the music.
“I’m gonna head back to our table! You want to
come?!”
I nodded and grabbed his hand so we wouldn’t be
lost as he led us through the massive crowd to where our table was. I
sighed beings no one was at the table so I went and leaned against the
balcony staring down onto the dance floor. I instantly spotted Nick and
Liz dancing to the music that was pumping through the huge speakers near
the DJ booth.
Those two really like each other, I
thought to myself as I watched as Nick had her laughing hysterically
about something.
I looked a little farther to see Rissa and
Howie talking to each other sitting at the bar. I laughed knowing that
those two were never going to be separated now that they met each other,
at least not mentally. I took a strand of my hair in my fingers and
started twirling my hair which I left down for tonight.
“Did anyone tell you that you look good?”
I turned to see AJ standing there with two
drinks in his hand.
“No not tonight at least,” I said with a
giggle, “What brings you up here? I figured you’d be down there shaking
your ass or something.”
He shook his head at me, “Nah, I saw you up
here alone and figured that you might want a drink and company.”
I smiled and looked at him. He really had
pretty eyes. I couldn’t help but wonder why he hid them all the time.
“So can I join a pretty lady up here or what?”
“Sure, I could use the company,” I said taking
the drink from him that he offered me.
He moved so he was standing next to me. We just
stood there next to each other in complete silence letting the music
consume our thoughts.
~AJ~
I glanced up from the dance floor to see
Chrissy leaning on the balcony looking out across the floor like she was
looking for someone. I saw that
Madison
was up there with her talking to one of our body guards not really
paying attention to her. I decided that maybe I should talk to her so I
went to the bar and got us both a drink and walked up to where we were.
I couldn’t help but think she looked good. I
mean she literally knocked me off my feet the moment I saw her standing
in my room. She was wearing a short black leather mini skirt and a pale
yellow halter-top. She had on these little heels that made the outfit
perfect. I could swear that no other girl would ever be able to pull of
the outfit ever again but that was just my opinion.
When I reached her she was still leaning on the
balcony twirling her hair in her fingers. I had to admit it was cute.
“Did anyone tell you that you look good?”
She turned around and smiled at me.
“No not tonight at least. What brings you up
here? I figured you’d be down there shaking your ass or something.”
I held up the two drinks and shook my head,
“Nah, I saw you up here alone and figured that you might want a drink
and company, so can I join a pretty lady up here or what?”
She smiled, “Sure, I could use the company.”
I handed her drink and joined her side leaning
on the balcony. After a few minutes of silence the DJ signaled that he
was going to slow things down a bit.
“Do you want to dance?”
She turned and faced me her green eyes getting
wide, “Me?”
“I don’t see any other girl up here that I
would want to dance with. Come on Chrissy, Please...”
She set her drink on the table beside her, then
took mine out of her hand, “Sure let’s go.”
I led her down to the floor hand in hand. I
found us a nice spot and the dance floor and pulled her to me. I
couldn’t help but smile as she relaxed against me leaning her head on my
shoulder. For the first time in a week the girl that I had ran into at
the mall was completely out of my head and all I wanted to do was think
about Chrissy and learn more about her.
~Nick~
It had been awhile since AJ lead Chrissy onto
the floor. I couldn’t help but smile seeing that both of them seemed to
be in a good mood. Chrissy had convinced me to drink tonight I was
slowly feeling the alcohol start to take its toll on me. Chrissy and AJ
were about two sheets from the wind too.
“Come on Nick let’s go to the table.”
I looked at Liz and nodded. I really wanted to
sit down. What was I thinking letting Chrissy talk me into drinking?
O’well I’m having fun at least.
After a few minutes of sitting at the table
Chrissy and AJ managed to get up the stairs both laughing at something
that had happened.
“Hey Nick! I bet I can out drink AJ!”
“Can not! I bet you’ll be out before I will.”
I watched as they sat still continuing their
banter.
“No way! I could take you any day.”
“Fine let’s start with shots.”
“Fine, Nick you want to join?”
“Sure,” I said not seeing Rissa and D walk up
behind me.
“Count me in too.”
Chrissy’s head shot up and smiled when she saw
Riss sit beside me.
“What ‘bout him?” she asked pointing to D.
“Sure I guess I can do some shots.”
AJ placed the order to the waiter laughing as
Chrissy made a face at him when he left.
“What a punk!”
“Who me?” AJ asked looking at Chrissy.
“Well duh! Who else would I be talking about?”
she said laughing, “No the waiter he was checking me out.”
“I don’t blame him. Just look at you? You’re
gorgeous.”
“And you’re drunk,” Chrissy shot at AJ
playfully hitting him as he pulled her closer.
“But you love this drunk.”
“Oh yeah you know it. Now let me go.”
I was laughing so hard I was about to cry
watching those two. They acted as if they were together forever but in
all actuality they were just becoming friends. The waiter showed up a
few minutes later with our bottle of alcohol and our shot glasses.
“Let the games begin!” AJ yelled as he poured
our shots.
“Bring it!” Chrissy said downing her first shot
no chaser or anything surprising the crap out of everyone sitting at the
table.
