"She is hot." Nick Carter commented to two of his best friends AJ
Mclean and Brian Littrell, as he closed the cover of the 2001 Sports
Illustrated Swimsuit edition, and pointed to the woman on the cover.
The three men sat on AJ's Mclean's tour bus. The threesome belonged
to the extremely famous pop group the Backstreet Boys along with two
other members, Kevin Richardson and Howie Dorough who, tonight, had
opted out of some male bonding and stayed on their own buses while
they drove to their last tour date in Little Rock Arkansas. At the
moment the pop group was doing the summer leg of their tour for the
newest CD -- Black and Blue. Each of the guys had their own bus but
was rarely alone on them.
AJ took the magazine from his tall blonde friend and nodded.
"Genesis Finch? She's the hottest specimen of woman there is." he
replied, dropping the magazine onto the floor of the bus. Brian
simply rolled his eyes but couldn't help but glance away from the TV
and take a peak at the magazine. Hot wasn't really the word to
describe her. It did no justice to her at all.
Breathtaking was more like it.
"She's dating Josh Harnett isn't she?" Brian asked, refocusing his
attention on the movie they had put into the DVD player almost an
hour ago. The three guys sat in the back of AJ's bus. Nick lay
across the right side of the couch that ran from wall to wall in the
back of the back. AJ and Brian sat on the left side of the couch,
sprawled out comfortably.
"Yeah." Nick and AJ replied in unison. Both men harbored a slight
tone of disgust in their voices.
AJ folded his arms over his chest with a smug look. "It's only
because she hasn't met me yet. She'd dump him on his skinny little
ass the SECOND she met me." he announced.
"You really shouldn't diss anyone in the skinny department Bone."
Brian shot back, elbowing his friend.
"No one ASKED you, 'Rok." AJ shot back, giving Brian a look of
death.
"Hey you guys?" Nick inquired, suddenly looking down at the magazine
which still lay on the floor.
"What?" AJ pressed, looking at Nick warily.
"Do you know if she's doing that hottest people in Hollywood thing
with us for Teen People?" Nick questioned, looking up at his
friends.
"Ask Kevin when we get to Little Rock." Brian suggested with a
shrug.
"Why?" AJ asked, cocking on eyebrow.
"We could work a little Backstreet magic and snag a photo shoot with
her." Nick answered with a wide smile and nod. "Then we'll see how
fast she drops Josh -- for me."
AJ looked over at his friend and rolled his eyes. "Dream on Carter."
he replied.
~!@#$%^&**&^%$#@!~
"Okay our flight leaves at noon and after we land back in the
states which will be around early morning tomorrow and we'll be
landing in New York. We'll have enough time to get to the apartment
in Manhattan and catch a little shut eye before you have to get to
TRL and do a quick interview with Carson. Then we can go home and
have dinner and then around nine o'clock we have to go to Letterman.
Then right after Letterman is over we fly out to California to do
Leno the next day and then we fly back to New York for a couple of
days do to Good Morning America and the Today Show. Then on the last
day we do the American press junket for 'All of the Above' and then
we head out to London to do a junket there and then to Paris to do a
junket there. Then to Spain to do one there. Then out to Australia.
Then after that we fly up to Milan and do a runway show for Versace.
Then we fly out to LA for the West Coast premiere of 'All of the
Above.' Then we go back to London for the premiere there, and then
back to New York for a Victoria Secrets runway show and we stay
there for the east coast premiere of your movie. Then we have to fly
out to LA for the premiere of Josh's new movie. Then we go down to
Florida to start the shooting of 'Princess Glitter' and you have to
do the Teen People shoot too while your down there." Christine Hall
drilled Genesis Finch, two days later.
"Chrissy I hope you have all of that written down because it's 6:50
in the morning and I was out partying like a fucking rock star all
last night." Genesis replied, grimacing as Christine opened the
Venetian style blinds of Genesis's large Italian hotel room and
sunshine spilled into the room. The previous night before hitting
the Italian clubs, Genesis had done a Christian Dior runway show.
"Don't curse Gen." Christine muttered out of habit as she began to
tidy the room up. "Where is Morgan?" Morgan Saunders was Genesis's
28 year old personal assistant. She and Genesis were basically best
friends and Christine was like the mother.
"I don't know." Genesis answered, her thick Texas accent even
thicker with sleep. She pulled her covers back over her head as her
body begged for more sleep. She had returned from clubbing with
several other models around 4:30 that night. She knew, though, that
as much as she tried Christine wouldn't let her fall back into a
blissful sleep. She sat up and looked around the room for her 10
month old Yorkie. "Where's Hollywood?" she asked when she didn't see
her.
"Right here." Morgan answered as she walked into the room with the
small dog trotting in front of her. "I took her outside."
"Okay. Thanks." Genesis answered with a smile as the dog jumped up
onto the bed and settled quietly in her owner's lap. Even after
having Morgan around since she was 16, Genesis still found it odd
having someone do everything for her. Had she not had Morgan,
though, she would have been screwed. Genesis could often be VERY
absentminded.
"Did you have fun last night?" Morgan questioned as she opened the
large closet and walked in so she could chose Genesis's clothes for
the day. Christine had disappeared into the bathroom.
"After I ditched the anorexic bimbos. Yeah." Genesis answered
picking up Hollywood and shoving back her covers. Most models
annoyed her. They were so caught up in themselves and all they
talked about was themselves. "You should have come Mo. It would have
been fun."
"If you say so." Morgan called from the closet. To say the Morgan
didn't like the whole club scene was an understatement. She wouldn't
go near a club if she could help it.
"Did Josh call?" Genesis asked hopefully as she climbed out of the
bed and walked over to the large windows, and stared at the view
while Hollywood snuggled into her arms. She hadn't seen or talked to
her boyfriend for nearly a month because of her insane schedule and
the fact that he was in the middle of shooting a movie. Genesis had
just finished a movie -- 'All of the Above' -- about an eighteen
year old girl who goes away to college and finds that the real world
is more than she could handle. During the move Genesis's character
-- Amanda -- had gotten raped, started doing cocaine and heroin and
flunked out of college and becoming homeless. The movie CO-starred
Michael Douglas as her single and overprotective father, along with
Matt Damon as her sophisticated college friend who ends up raping
her and introducing her to the world of drugs. At first Genesis had
been unwilling to do the movie because Matt was an ex of hers, but
once Christine and Morgan had convinced her, Genesis found that Matt
held no grudges and the two became great friends. She was doing
press for the movie now.
"No. Why don't you call him?"
"Maybe on the plane." Genesis muttered to her dog. She knew that her
relationship with Josh was going sour but she really liked him and
cared for him and wasn't ready to let go yet. "Do you know whose
going to be on Letterman with me?"
Morgan came out of the closet toting a sleeveless D&G black tank top
with the D&G logo inscripted on it silver beading and a pair of Anna
Sui flare legged jeans and a diamond studded black Versace belt.
Genesis closed her eyes and willed the clothing that Morgan picked
out would turn magically into a pair of sweats but Christine didn't
allow sweats unless Genesis was at home. "Backstreet Boys." she
answered, holding the clothes out to Genesis and taking Hollywood.
"Oh...You know I think that they are the one boy band I HAVEN'T met
yet." Genesis commented, looking over the clothes.
"And the one boy band you haven't dated any one of the members."
Morgan teased. The subject of Genesis's constantly flow of
boyfriends was one she was teased about constantly. She didn't mind
though. She found it funny too.
"I haven't dated any of the guys from O-town. Besides, they're all
married or something Mo."
"Only two of them."
"Well then, that changes it all." Genesis joked, running her fingers
through her hair. "If I didn't have Josh, those three remaining boys
would be putty in my hands."
"Gen? Despite the fact that you have Josh, all of the men in the
world are wrapped around your pinkie finger." Morgan pointed out.
Genesis laughed and walked towards the bathroom. "It's odd I haven't
met them before." she said, thinking out loud and Christine emerged
from the bathroom.
"Haven't met who?" Christine asked, walking to the bed and making
it. If you couldn't tell you Christine was a neat-freak. It drove
Genesis insane but she still loved her manager. In fact Genesis
often called Christine her "Mom away from Mom."
"The Backstreet Boys."
"Your doing Letterman with them - "
"I know-"
"And in fact I was talking to the photographer who is doing the
shoot for the Hottest People In Hollywood, and she said that they
requested a photo shoot with you." Christine interrupted. "Do you
want that?"
"I'll think about it." Genesis offered. "If I like then when I meet
them at Letterman I'll tell you."
"Gen hurry up and go take your shower and get ready. Your breakfast
should be up in a half an hour." Morgan told her motioning her
towards the bathroom. Without another word Genesis walked into the
bathroom and turned the shower on as she reflected on the next
three weeks or so. Only one word could possibly sum it up and it was
hectic. Another word would sum up how she FELT when it was over and
it was tired. It would all slow down once she started filming the
movie in Tampa, Florida. Well actually a couple places in Florida --
Tampa, Orlando, and Miami. She loved her life though. It was
everything she had dreamed of since she knew HOW to dream. She had
always wanted to be famous and able to take care of her family. Only
one thing was missing. One simple thing that she couldn't seem to
get no matter how hard she tried.
